SFDG’s award-winning Timber Flow: The Folded Crest, designed for the Malaysian Timber Council, has found a permanent home at Istana Budaya, Kuala Lumpur. Originally conceived for ARCHIDEX 2025, the installation transforms the traditional Malay tanjak into a contemporary timber expression using locally sourced Kembang Semangkok and Chengal. Designed for disassembly and reuse, its transition from temporary pavilion to permanent cultural installation demonstrates how thoughtful design can extend material life, preserve cultural narratives and create lasting value.
