SFDG unveils the Terengganu People’s Market, a reimagined civic destination that transforms the traditional Malaysian market into a contemporary community hub. Drawing inspiration from Terengganu’s coastal heritage and weaving traditions, the design integrates sustainable strategies such as passive ventilation, rainwater harvesting, and solar energy systems. Its woven roof form and flowing spatial organisation reflect the rhythm of local life, connecting commerce, culture, and community. More than a marketplace, the project embodies a new vision for civic architecture in Malaysia, one that merges cultural identity, environmental responsibility, and enduring design innovation.
