Gasing Pavilion

Spatial Factors Design Group conceived Gasing as a contemporary timber pavilion inspired by the rotational energy of the traditional Malay spinning top. Oak fins progressively rotate and rise around a circular plan, forming a dynamic envelope that shifts with movement, light and perspective. Spaced at precise intervals, the structure encourages natural ventilation while creating layered shadows and transparency. Through this reinterpretation of cultural heritage, SFDG transforms timber into both structure and experience, demonstrating how material innovation, craftsmanship and spatial storytelling can create distinctive environments that strengthen brand presence and visitor engagement.
