SFDG has secured its third consecutive national market design prize with its proposal for the MPKj Pasar Sungai Long Architectural Design Competition, following earlier successes with MBSJ and MBI. The design reimagines the traditional market as a contemporary civic destination, bringing together commerce, community and everyday life through open courtyards, flexible public programmes and a distinctive lattice façade. Climate-responsive strategies prioritise natural daylight and ventilation while reducing operational energy demand. This achievement reinforces SFDG’s growing expertise in creating thoughtful, sustainable civic architecture that delivers long-term value for communities, authorities and future development partners.
